I've noticed that since the start of the year, I've changed mindset completely when it comes to physical things. You might think I'm crazy but just stay with me. I find that I'm living in clutter and the constant need to buy more. I am a blogger and this helps fuel my buying as I think I can review new products or feature it here in some way. This would sound alright if you get an income from blogging but I haven't got a cent from this blog and I haven't received anything in PR before. I'm not saying I have a huge Ikea Alex drawers filled to the brim with makeup and skincare, I have a collection that I want to downsize. I don't need 7 different highlighters in my collection or nearly 20 different lip products where I reach for 4.

I feel the same way with all my belongings, my room is filled with things I never use and don't plan on getting rid. I spent a few days of my midterm holiday cleaning out my room, going through every drawer and open space for things I don't need or want and it was refreshing. I didn't get time to go through my wardrobe but it will get done.

I don't want to make it sound like I am going to become a minimalist with 4 outfits and less than 100 items, it's really the opposite. I love shopping like the next blogger but I want to be more controlled over my spending, buying items that I know I don't have 6 of already at home or a new lipstick in a slightly different nude compared to all my other nudes. I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos about decluttering and shop me stash and everything to do with living with less. I think Ashley Elizabeth is probably my favourite at the moment.

I want to save money too, I'm going to college in September and it's not going to be cheap. I want to save for things and experiences, so I won't have to be begging my parents for money every second week. I have the travel bug for the past two years and all I want to do is see new places and I need to save money to go anywhere.

You might be thinking is your blog going to change? No, it's not and I can tell you that. Just because I'm on a low buy doesn't mean I'm going to stop blogging about beauty. At the moment I'm trying to downsize my collection and I'm only allowing myself to buy beauty products if I have panned a certain amount. I also have things that are nearly 3 years old and really need to be used up and I want to get my money out of them.

Will this go into other parts of my life? Maybe. I am not a huge fashion spender but I hope to make more informed choices about buying things in general.

This has been quite a different post to my usual style but I've been wanting to get this off my chest for a while.

Thanks for being awesome,
