Favourite Things of 2017

It's the Eve of Christmas Eve and this post isn't even a Christmas one! It's nearly the end of 2017 and I thought I would share with you some of my favourite products from this year.

Wet Brush
I don't think I've talked about this hairbrush before, I was in a huge need for a new hair brush as I was using the same one from Primark since I was 8. I had heard so much about the Wet Brush, but they are kinda hard to find in Ireland but low and behold, I found this one in TK Maxx for €10 and I snatched it up. This brush doesn't tug at your hair even when wet! I found all my other hair brushes would scratch my scalp but this one doesn't and my hair feels amazing all the time now.

Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo
I was getting sick of using cans of dry shampoo, I had to use a lot to get anywhere with it, and I was going through cans twice as fast as usual. I heard about powder dry shampoo and was curious and when I was in Lush I picked one up. It is a more expensive dry shampoo, I think I paid around €10 for it but it has already lasted as long as 2 bottles of dry shampoo. I love the fresh lemon scent it gives off and how great it is at absorbing oil. The only critic is it takes 10 minutes to put in but it lasts like 2 days. It can be a little messy too so don't do it in your best clothes, personally I do it the night before.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer
I've talked about this concealer before in a New in Beauty post and I still love this concealer so much. It suits my ghostly complexion, it has good coverage and lasts on my face. I am currently on my second tube of this concealer and the great part is that it doesn't break the bank at all at €3.95, it's one of my top 10 under €10.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Another train I was two years late for is beauty blenders, they are amazing. I love using this to apply my foundation and concealer, I don't use it every day as it can be time consuming blending in all the product but I love doing it if I am going to an event or just feel like being a little fancy.

Cleanse Off Mitt
One thing I learned this year is the importance of not using wipes and cotton pads on a daily bases, they don't remove your makeup properly, and they contain some not so nice additives. I love my Cleanse Off Mitt and I've tried the Primark Makeup Eraser version which are good but I prefer the COM. It is a reusable cloth that you dampen and use to remove your makeup. The only thing that takes a while to get used to is washing it after each use.

Essence Make Me Brow
Another product in my Top 10 Under 10 post that I have fallen in love with this year. My brow game has improved a lot this year with the addition of proper brow products instead of using eyeshadows. I love that this can be used by itself for a natural look or on top of another product to add more dimension to them brows.

Kiko Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick in Papaya (117)
I nearly forgot this one but I remembered it just on time for this post! Also, this is the actual link for it as previous posts with this lipstick I couldn't find this colour. I have gotten loads of wear out of this lipstick since I bought it in July, it lasts like a liquid lipstick without drying out your lips in the mean time. The price point is amazing €7, the down side is that there are no Kiko shops in Ireland that I know of and shipping is free over €49. I will be wearing it loads over the holidays.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones.

What's your favourite things of this year?

Thanks for being awesome,

  1. Aren't the real techniques sponges just amazing! I couldn't be without mine for blending concealer or foundation.

    1. Thanks for commenting Amber! I don't know what I did before using a beauty blender, it's a game changer.
