The October and November Edition

I can't believe another 2 months have come and gone, I have been so busy! Here are a few things I have been loving this past 2 months.

Sing Street

This movie is set in inner city Dublin in the 1980s where Conor, the main character, gets moved from a posh fee paying school to a public school. He doesn't really fit in too well but after he tries to impress a girl by asking her to be in a music video for his band, he decided to try to find people from his school to form a band. I loved everything about this movie, the music, the comedy, the actors. It is one of those dorky feel good films.

The Girl On The Train

This is another film I loved but it isn't as light hearted as Sing Street. This is the movie adaptation of the book. It is slightly messed up and words can't describe the plot as it ends up being something completely different in the end. It kept me at the edge of my seat during the whole movie. I thought the actors were brilliant especially Emily Blunt as she did a superb job at being the mess that is the main character Rachel. I also think that the actress that plays Meagan looks like Jennifer Lawrence, does anyone else see that?

The Addams Family

A Halloween classic that I had never watched until now and I really don't get why I hadn't watched it beforehand but it is such an enjoyable movie. I feel like everyone and their dog have watched this movie at some stage.

I bought this scarf completely on a whim when I was shopping a while back as I love the colours. I bought it Heatens but I can't find it online, so here's something similar.

I love wearing this as during the Winter I always feel very cold and this keeps my neck nice and warm. It isn't bulky too which is great as it can be worn underneath a coat without looking bulky.

Rimmel Sun Shimmer 002 Summer Passion

I think this may be discontinued as I can't find it anywhere except Amazon. I have recently been using this bronzing palette to contour. I use the lightest shade to contour and then the middle shade to bronze some of the high points of my face and I haven't gone near the darker shade at all!

I love the pigmentation of this product and how easy it is to blend in. I am surprised that I found something paler than Benefit Hoola to contour with and I love using it.

Sleek Makeup Highlighting Palette Precious Metals

I won this in a giveaway, thanks Marta! Since receiving it, I have been experimenting more with highlighters and where to put them. I have noticed that I don't like to have too much glitter in my highlighter but a little doesn't hurt. All shades are very pigmented, I normally go for Platinum, Royal Gold and Renaissance Gold.

My favourite one is Renaissance Gold as it has a lovely sheen without containing a pile of glitter. I haven't used Antique Bronze as it is the only powder in this palette and I feel like it is too dark for my skin tone but I will eventually get around to experimenting with it.

Botanics All Bright Hydrating Night Cream

I have been using this for a few months now and I love it. It is a very hydrating moisturising cream that smells wonderful, I'm really bad at describing scents but on the packaging it states it is hibiscus. I have very little left in this pot, I have a backup so there is no need to worry. I thought I would go quickly through this product but surprising a little goes a long way.

I don't really believe the whole brightening effect that it states as I think my skin is too pale to brighten. Overall, I love this night cream and the best part is that it is only €7!

GoggleBox Ireland

I have fallen in love with this show, if you are not familiar with this show, you are basically watching people watch TV. It sounds so boring and stupid but it is one of the funniest and most entertaining shows I have ever watched. You get introduced to a number of families/friends who watch a program and make comments or have a discussion about something on the show. My favourite people for the Irish version are the Tully twins and the Ryan family as they are both hilarious and come out with the most interesting things. This show has brightened my Thursdays a little more and makes Friday feel more doable.

My YouTube Channel

I have lacked completely putting up videos as I am finding it harder and harder to get time to record edit and upload videos, I wish this was not the case. I have put up 2 videos Bad Blood/I Knew You Were Trouble Mashup and Winter Song Acoustic Cover.

What are your favourites this month?
Thanks for being awesome,

Life Lately: November 2016

I have noticed since I started back to school in September I haven't shared anything with what has been going on in my life. I know last year was different as I had things to talk about but now I don't. I'm in fifth year now (Junior Year) and I'm in school five days a week every week. I don't have work experience on Tuesdays or spontaneous trips during the week any more. I miss TY, I miss the freedom and lack of seriousness of it all. I miss coming home and having no homework to do and do some blogging or go off to one of my many after school activities. I hate having to be negative but this is my life at the moment, school, homework, study, sleep. I miss checking my blog during the week and taking part in at least one Twitter Chat a day now I can just about do one once a week!

On a more positive note, I like having 170 people in my year. That might sound crazy but I met and got to know some people that now are in my year which is cool. I am also glad that I am doing subjects I enjoy more like Music, French and Chemistry. I didn't think I would like Chemistry but I much prefer it over Biology.

I'm doing 8 subjects, all Higher Level, English, Irish, Maths, French, Music, Biology, Chemistry and LCVP. I'm find most subjects alright except English. I have a different teacher and she is a little intense. I've had a few tests already and I worked so hard for them but I only go 60%, I want this to improve as the time goes by but unless I get a spelling or grammar weaver for my Leaving Cert (which I think is highly unlikely), I'm going to get badly penalised for spelling and grammar errors.

I feel like I'm trying to do the impossible this year and so far it is working. I am trying to do my Silver Gaisce but I'm managing fine. On a normal week I would have Speech and Drama, I'm helping out with a class this year, Piano, Dyslexic Support Group and Kickboxing. My week is hectic but I like it that way. Since I have a huge lack of a social life, I don't go out to night clubs or pubs, I feel that I can manage everything.

My YouTube channel has been lacking a lot and I have come to the realisation that I can't upload twice a month, even though I want to, it's not practical at all. I haven't been online much, mostly on the weekends.

There's always a silver lining to school and that is holidays, I had a week off for Halloween which was perfect! I got to relax and do some things I wanted to do but the week flew by. I did a study skills course for Dyslexic students which I found very interesting and hopefully what I learned will help me to study. I went to see some of my relations for a few days and I had 2 driving lessons. It was a busy week! I also got to dress up twice, at school there was a dress up day and I went as a Social (Media) Butterfly and the second one was totally unexpected and last minute as I had to help out at a Halloween community fundraiser and I went as Wednesday Addams.

There were teacher strikes as well. All across Ireland over 66% of schools were closed after the midterm as ASTI members withdrew from supervising and sub roles which meant that many schools including my own had to close. It went on for 2 days (not very long I know) I didn't take these days off to do what I would have preferred. I spent the time studying and revising work for Christmas tests. I did take some time off as well to do more fun stuff since I had the chance.

I know this may seem mostly negative but this is my life lately and I didn't want to sugar coat it.
Thanks for being awesome,

My Current Favourite Lipsticks

I love lipstick, I feel that it can completely change or complete the look. I haven't shared my current lipstick favourites in a while as I haven't been experimenting with different lipsticks. When I find a lipstick that I love I use it as much as possible and abandon my other ones. Here are some of my current favourite lipsticks.

Revlon Super Lusterous Lipstick 415 Pink in the Afternoon

This has been my most used lipstick ever! I remember buying it in early 2015 on a complete whim and I am surprised that I have used up at least half of the product. It is a pinky nude that I loved to wear before I got really into doing eye makeup. Another thing I love about it is that it can be worn all year round as it is not very bold. This has been the most expensive lipstick I have ever bought, I have no high end lipsticks. I love the packaging too, it looks so sleek and professional.

Sleek Lip VIP Backstage

The swatch does this lipstick justice while the picture below of me wearing it does not at all. This is a bright coral colour that I love to wear to add a pop of colour to a look. It doesn't last as long as the Matte Me Lip Creams but it nourishes your lips and doesn't leave them looking dry and chapped. This lipstick is more Spring/Summer as it is a bold shade but I hope to get some use out of it during these cooler months.

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream Birthday Suit

Every blogger in the world has tried this lip cream out at this stage and I see why everyone loves it. I was surprised when I bought it that it was a perfect nude for me. I was hesitant buying it at first as there were no testers and I wasn't too sure would it suit me, I was surprised that it complimented my pale skin tone. It lasts for so long too, none of my other lipsticks can last 4-6 hours without reapplying.

What are your favourite lipsticks at the moment?

What's On My IPod

I love seeing what apps people have on their phones/IPads/IPods and I realised that I never have done one before. Some of these apps I use more than others.

This is one of the apps I can't live without, I use it to chill out, look up stuff for homework or watching hilarious videos, YouTube is the answer. I think this is one of my most used apps as I love watching videos of random things.

This is on of my procrastination apps, where if I have to do something, I'll open this app and scroll through Trending. I used to read a lot of stuff from Buzzfeed but now I don't as much.

This is another staple that I feel everyone has. I have Spotify Free as I don't use it enough to pay for it. I love using Spotify to make new weird and wonderful playlists or even finding them! I normally play Top Tracks in Ireland or when I'm studying the Intense Studying playlist.

BOI Mobile

Online banking, nothing really that interesting.

Best Fiends

Firstly, I am not sponsored by Best Fiends, I wish! I have had this game for ages, maybe a year or so. I love playing it when I have no WiFi or I'm stuck somewhere. I have the app on both my phone and my IPod. On my phone I'm on Level 38 and on my IPod I'm on Level 28. I love this app it is an excellent boredom buster.

My Vodafone

I love using this to track my credit spending which is awesome to check how much you spent on that 5 minute phone call and when your data bundle is going out.

I go through phases of using this to help learn more French as I'm doing it for my Leaving Cert and I want to do well in it. I used it for 2 months during the Summer but I haven't touched it since. I hope I will find the time to use it daily after I do my piano exam.

Goodreads is like a Facebook for books. You can post book related statuses about how far you are through a book. My favourite feature is the To Read list. I love adding books that I hear are good to it and eventually getting to reading them. Follow me HERE.

Google Keep

This is a synced version of Notes, I love the layout and how simple it is to type in a note. I normally put To Do lists or ideas for different things.

I did a review about this app HERE. I love using this for when I am going away for a few days, I find I pack lighter as I know exactly what I am going to wear. It could be laid out better but it's a good app, if you are into fashion at all or trying to make the most out of your wardrobe, this is the app to get!

Blogging Folder

Google Docs

I used to have my blog schedule here but then I changed to Google Sheets, the best decision ever! I still use this for any writing products or if I am working on a guest post.

Google Sheets

I used to be slightly scared of Google Sheets but now I love it. It is wonderful for sorting out blog schedules. I have been using it for my YouTube channel when I tried to have a strict upload schedule but that failed badly since school started back. I use a template created by the Blogger Hannah, I find it so easy to use and pretty and I hope she makes one for 2017 as I have no idea how to do that.

I sometimes use Pinterest. I have so many boards for different things Blogging, School, Study and My 18th Birthday Party, priorities I know! I love having a look every so often as some Pins as creative and cute. I'm not an avid Pinterest user but I enjoy using it.

This is a Blogging staple and I love to use it when I don't have time to go on my laptop and read posts.

Google Analytics

I installed Google Analytics maybe a year ago on my blog and I still don't know how to use it. I like to keep the app as I have good intentions in using it but I don't understand it very much.

I like to schedule Tweets a lot especially for new posts, like this one. I used to use Buffer but Hootsuite is more diverse as you can schedule as many posts on several accounts. I always like to schedule ahead and I use it if I am posting on Instagram.

Of course, another Blogging staple of anyone on Blogger, like myself. I personally don't like the app as it hasn't been updated in a couple of years but it is great for when I need to write a blog post on the go.

Photography Folder

Default Photos and Camera

I can't really complain about these apps as I'm stuck with them.

I always use InstaSize to put borders on my profile pictures as I hate having to zoom in when I am setting a picture on the likes of Twitter and Instagram.

Pic Collage

I use this to make collages for my friends birthdays as I am a very good friend! I don't really use it for anything else.

I love this for tracking stats and uploads on my YouTube channel, it is great to see stats on the go.

I use this for the Photography Group that I am in. Unfortunately, I haven't been very active on it since school started back, I know I use school as an excuse a lot but I hope to get back and at least start posting stuff on semi regular basis.

This was the first decent photo editing app I found and I have stuck to using it. I find it easy to use and the format is pleasing

I love using this on the go if I have time and I want to get some blog photos sorted. I usually use PicMonkey to add text for my title photo. I am so happy there is an app now as for ages they kept advertising it as coming soon.

I love using Bitmoji on my Snapchat as they are so adorable and fun to use. I have no idea why I have it in my photography folder though!

I have only started getting into using Canva, I use it to create my YouTube Thumbnails and sometimes a few of my blog photos. I think that it is much better that PicMonkey but it is more awkward to use.

Social Media Folder

I think that nearly everyone has at least one of these and I don't really see the point in saying something about each of them as we all know what they do. I use the majority of these on a daily basis except for maybe Skype, Tumblr and Wattpad.

FaceBook Messenger

Default Folder

More boring default stuff!

Health Folder

Default Health

This is the app I hate most from the Apple default apps, I don't use it but I did try at one stage but it was so confusing and awkward that I just left it.

This is a period tracking app, I love how it doesn't scream that from the name or icon. It has been my favourite period tracking app to use as it uses so much more information that the other ones about anything about periods and also it's free and there's no hidden pesky additional charges.

I love using this for mini workouts or if I feel that I need to burn a little energy. I don't use it very often but I like to have it just in case if I want to do a ten minute workout. It is simple to use and the app to compatible with Spotify or Music which is awesome.

Study Folder

I use this when I have a very short amount of time to do a whole list of things. I love that you can allocate time for a particular task and it sets timers and when a task time is finished it moves onto the next task.

I use this for French as it is so much easier than trying to find a word in a dictionary.

Default Voice Memos

I became very lazy during the Summer and I got this app to help me get things done. Basically you plant a tree for a certain amount of time and if you go on your phone for more than 10 seconds after you put on the timer, the cute tree dies. I found this very effective but I don't use it as much as I don't procrastinate as much now.

Another to do type app. I like to use this when I don't have my Bullet Journal with me but I want to make a to do list, I normally use it before I go to bed. I think it is great as I won't forget anything as it has a pop up icon telling you how many things are left to do.

I use this for my English essays and work as I need more 'Higher Level Vocabulary' in my work. This app is both a dictionary and a thesaurus which is great instead of swapping to a different app.

What apps are on your phone at the moment?
Thanks for being awesome,
