10 Eye Makeup Tips For Hooded Eyes

I have hooded eyes which can be annoying when you try to perfect your cat eye or smokey eye and it doesn't turn out the way you want it to. I know how you feel and if you have another eye shape, don't worry some of these tips may help you too.

Use a Primer/Base

It is important to see a primer or base shadow, especially with hooded eyes as it is much easier for eyeshadow to crease and slip. I like to use Maybelline Colour Tattoo Gel Eyeshadow as it acts like the perfect base. It acts like a primer since it is a cream like eye shadow.

Keep Your Mirror Parallel To Your Face

I wish I had learned this a few years ago. Do your eye makeup with your eyes open and mirror parallel to face. There's not point in spending ages trying to do a beautiful cut crease when you look straight ahead in the mirror and realise you can't see your beautiful work.

Get Some Celeb Inspiration

Two actress that I love that have hooded eyes are Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone. I feel finding a Celeb that has a similar eye shape as you can give you inspiration to what may suit you. I think it is a simple and easy way to see what works.

Put Your Crease Shadow Slightly Above Your Natural Crease

If you have hooded eyes and put a crease shadow into your crease, you won't see it. Put it in your crease and slightly above it to make sure it can be seen.

Set with Powder

This may sound weird but if you set your foundation with powder to make it last why not use it for eye shadow. I find this helps with the longevity my eye makeup as I use it beofre and after I put on any eye shadow.

Go For Longlasting Products

Waterproof mascara is a must for me as otherwise by the end of the day I have panda eyes. It can be a pain it take off but it is worth it. I try to look for products that state they are long lasting as then they should last for more than two hours on my face.

Don't Go for the Mega Cheap Eye Makeup

I know there are some brands that have amazing products for very cheap but there are a lot of other brands who can't hit that mark. When I mean cheap, I mean €1-2 on a product cheap. I personally haven't been lucky enough to find any of this makeup to ever work for me.

Avoid Going over Your Crease with Eyeliner

This never turns out well. Try to avoid extending the wind of your cat eye over your crease. It makes it look droopy and misshaped of you so. Try to extend further out and away from the crease as it looks much better.

Use Matte Eye Shadows

I've heard this one a lot but I don't always use it. I sometimes like using shimmery or satin eye shadows but if you use in moderation it will look wonderful.

I think it is so important to experiment with eye makeup to see what suits you. I used to only wear eyeliner as I was too afraid to start using eye shadows but now I'm the opposite way around. I love trying out different techniques and different colours to find what looks good.

What are you eye makeup tips?

20 Thoughts I've Had While Learning To Drive

I have been learning to drive since June and I have done 4/5 lessons, I lost count, oops! I have insurance too which is great as I can practice driving on the road. In Ireland by law you need car insurance to drive it. I have been doing small bits of driving, going to different activities. Here are a few thoughts I have while driving and learning to drive:

Do people say when they are younger that they want to be a driving instructor or does it happen out of nowhere

Cars are boxes on wheels with magic powers that makes it go.

*Finding clutch bite* Why is it called 'the bite'?

Have I checked my mirrors recently?

*Dog at side of road* Please don't run out in front of me, I can't deal with that.

Roundabouts are so confusing, it's more like a scaredabout as I have no idea when to go.

Should I go up to the next gear? Hmm.

I wonder what driving an automatic car would be like, easier than this!

Is the person behind me giving out about how slow I'm going or our they like 'I remember when I was learning to drive. Poor girl'.

Thanks for passing me out, it has helped me a lot.

Why does nobody believe me that I'm learning to drive?

*Tries to put down handbrake* I am some weak individual.

This is not like Mario Kart at all but at least it's better than Rainbow Road.

I'm going so fast! *Going at 60km/h*

I'll know how to drive in miles by the time my driving test.

I can't wait until I can be like James Cordon on Carpool Karaoke. I just want to start singing along to a killer tune while driving and surviving.

Driving is like trying to do 400 things and once and surviving. So 401 things.

What shall I call my first car?

I wonder will I be able to drive to school next year, that would be class!

What thoughts did you have learning to drive?

Project Pan 15 Finale

I can't believe that it's been 3 months since I started this Project Pan, if you want to read my Intro and 1 Month Update you can see my progress throughout this project.

Not Finished

Oriflame FeetUp Foot Cream

Status: 1/4 full
I am happy with my use of this product as I only thought I would use half of it in the 2 months. I enjoy using it as it makes my dry feet feel a little more moisturised. I hope to use this up in the next month or so.

Giordani Gold Cleansing Milk

Status: 1/4 full
I started using this to remove my makeup so I have been using a lot more product everyday than I usually did. It is ok at removing makeup but doesn't remove waterproof makeup completely. I hope to use this up in the next month or so.

Oriflame Discover Parisian Body Scrub

Status: No change
I haven't used this at all in the past month as I completely forget about it. Since Summer is over, I don't think I will be using it as much but hopefully in Spring, I'll use it more.

Catrice Defining Blush 100 Rose Couture

Status: Unknown
I have been using this everyday for school. I have definitely made progress in it as the embelishment has started to fade in the middle. It is going to take me a while to use it as I don't really like it. For a blush it contains a lot of glitter, I hope to try out a few different ways to use it. Like I said in the first Intro, I hope to just hit pan.

Seventeen Lip Lustre H167A

Status: 3/4 full
I keep forgetting to use this. I'm not really a lipgloss person, I could say that's my excuse but I think another reason is that I put three lip products into this Project Pan instead of concentrating on one. I have only worn this once or twice since the start of the Project. I hope that I'll end up using it up eventually.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Status: Lots of pan
I have been using this a lot which has helped me use it up but I also dropped it twice, oops! I repressed it so there's still a little more left to use up. I used to contour with it but then I realised to was very orangey on my skin so I have been using it to bronze up my face. I have enjoyed using this product but I am glad that it is nearly finished.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me

Status: 3/4 full
This is another product I wear everyday to school and I feel like I can't see any progress what so ever. I find they are ok to use as a lip tint but I don't find them moisturising at all. It's hard to believe that I have to for nearly three years and I still only used a quarter of it.

Oriflame Lip Sample 70

Status: Little left
I thought I would have used this up really quickly but I was wrong. I fell like now since it is autumn I can wear it a bit more as I personally think it is more of a Autumn/Winter colour than Summer. I hope to use this up in the next few months.

Nivea Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover

I'm really surprised how long this took me to use up, I thought since I was using it to remove a full face of makeup. At first I didn't like using it as I was never on the band wagon of using micellar water but I found it so convenient and it removed every speck of makeup. I am definitely going to look into getting a cruelty free one soon.

P.S. Love Body Lotion

I got through this very quick as I normally forget to put on body lotion, I didn't have high expectations from it as it was from Primark and I'm glad as it was ok. The body lotion was incredible thin, I didn't really like, but it absorbed quickly. I felt like it didn't do much for my skin and I'm glad I have used it up.

Osiris Avise 3 in 1 Face Wipes

My hatred for face wipes are real, I personally don't like using them on my face as I think they just move arounf your makeup a bit. I have been using them to spot clean my makeup brushes between washing. I found that using them in this way helped to use them up quicker. I have 2 more packets of face wipes to use up. One down, two to go!

Simple Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm

I kept forgetting to use this, it would always hide on my dresser and I would forget about it. I'm glad I can get rid of it now. I felt like it did nothing for my under eye area as I thought it would help with my dark circles but that was not the case.

Ted Baker Body Wash

I was surprised that the scent from this body wash didn't last at all. It smelt nice in the shower but once as I got out of the shower and dressed the scent was forgotten about. I liked using it but I was disappointed with the longevity of the product.

Already Finished

So... Sinful Body Spray

Benefit PoreFessional

I have finished 7 products in total in this Project Pan and I am happy for the outcome. Hopefully I'll get the rest finished in the next month or two.

I have decided that I am going to merge this series with my Empties series, I feel that if I do one, the other one lacks a bit.

Bookworm: Inferno

I have promised this blog post for ages, since March, and only now I have finally got around to doing it. I reviewed the first book in the Blood for Blood Saga, Vendetta a few months ago.

This is the second book written by Catherine Doyle and the second book in the Blood for Blood Saga. I tried to find out how many books are in a saga and I got a few different answers, I think it is between 4-6 books but if you know please comment below. Catherine Doyle is an awesome Irish author who I found out about on a whim when I was in Easons and saw it as apart of the 'Buy 1 Get 1 Half Price' deal and bought Vendetta. I feel in love with the book and waited 8 months for Inferno to be released.

These books are very easy to read, I read Inferno, which is 400 pages long, in 8 days and normally I take my time reading books as I don't normally have the time to read a book cover to cover in a day.

Inferno starts where Vendetta finishes off. Sophie is in hospital. She finds out the real reason why her father is in jail. Her life goes back to normal with a few bumps along the way until she finds out some family history that destroys everything that seemed normal. Sophie goes through a lot of raw emotions, she has to recover from the trauma of nearly being murdered in the first book and she grieves the death of a close loved one. It isn't clear what is going to happen next, all that is known is that Sophie is with the Falcones and somebody is going to die.

I loved this book more than Vendetta, I feel like they are getting better with each one. Since it is YA fiction some parts a little predictable, I don't really mind this but I know some people dislike it. This book had me on a roller coaster of emotions from happy to extremely sad, I loved every chapter and every part. I have no faults except for *insert spoilers here*. It is one of the very few books that I can reread over and over again and not get bored and feel the same emotion as I did the first time I read it.

Like the first one, Inferno has a cliffhanger. Thankfully all questions will be answered in the third book Mafiosa but unfortunately this book won't be out until January 2017 which is still a little while away. You can pre-order Mafiosa on Amazon, click HERE.

Have you read any of Catherine Doyle's books?

The August and September Edition

It has been a rather normal paced September since I started back school. August flew in a blink of an eye, my final month of freedom. Here are a few things that I loved in August and September.

Finding Dory

I went to see this when I was in Dublin, I went to see Finding Dory and it is the cutest movie ever. I love Ellen DeGeneres and I have watched videos of her mentioning on her show about how there was never a Finding Nemo sequel and I was so happy when they announced Finding Dory, even though it was supposed to come out in 2015, I loved the movie, it is about Dory trying to find her parents and trying to find out who she was before she forgot it. It is an adorable movie and I loved every minute of it.

Don't Look At Me Fresh Face Mask

I have realised now that any product I buy from Lush normally goes into a favourites type post. I think this is my favourite face mask from Lush, I have tried 5 face masks before (Rosy Cheeks, Cupcake, Love Lettuce, Mask of Magnaminty, Catastrophe Cosmetic), and this one is my top favourites as it smells slightly citrusy and is an amazing exfoliator.

Weird Stripped T-Shirt

Róisín this is very unusual of you to mention fashion? I know but I had to mention it. When I was up in Dublin I went on a mad shopping spree and picked up a few lovely things. One of these things was this stripped t-shirt with 'Weird' written on it. I knew I had to buy it when I saw it.

I had never been in Pull & Bear before and I am definitely going to shop there more often. I love how flowy this t-shirt is and how it can be dressed up or down.

Bomber Jacket

I have finally followed the trend and bought myself a plain bomber jacket. I was thinking of getting a green one but black goes with everything so I decided against it. I haven't worn it much yet as I'm in school but I look forward to getting more wear out of it. I also got this from Pull & Bear, I can't find it on their website but I found something similar, click HERE.

I was a contributor in the most recent issue of KILORAN Body. I wrote a poem called The Unsolvable Puzzle, I normally don't write poems but I decided to try something different. I really enjoyed contributing and I hope to do it again some time soon.

Billy Elliot The Musical

When I was in Dublin, I went to Billy Elliot The Musical. I went in having no real expectations as I had watched the movie in school and thought it was ok, nothing great. The Musical was amazing, I loved every minute of it. The costumes, characters and props were superb. I am so glad I went to see it.

My YouTube Channel

In the past 2 months, I put up 4 videos. I put up 3 covers, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Can't Help Falling in Love and Gasoline (Troye Sivan). I put up one original song Back To The Future which I am very proud of. I like putting up original songs but only if I think they are perfect.

What are your favourites this month?
