How I Blog: The Blog Post Process

I was half thinking of doing this post but sure why not. Every blogger has a different process to organising and writing a blog post and I thought I would share to you mine.

I keep my blog schedule on Google Docs and I like to have it planned out 2 months ahead of time, I like to keep it organised as when I am finished one post and ready to start another all I have to do is looks at my blog schedule and see what I have to do. I sometimes swap post ideas around or even get rid of them all together if I don't like them anymore.

I also keep a list of blog post ideas in my Bullet Journal and also in Google Docs just in case I don't have my Bullet Journal on hand. That way I always have a list of blog post ideas that I can use.

I start writing it 2 weeks before it goes up, I know that seems like a long time but I find especially when I have school it works perfectly as I have plenty of time to get it done with photos and all. I like taking my time writing up a post and taking pictures as I find if I was to rush it, I normally don't like the end result.

I love listening to music while writing posts, here is my playlist:

I normally try to have it finished six days before it goes live as if something happened or I was really busy I would have an extra few days to get it finished. I schedule it normally for 6pm on Saturday, I don't even know why I pick that time to be honest.

I always try to take my photos between 11am-4pm or whenever it is brightest. I use my trusty locker to put things on for photographing as I haven't found anything else that does the job as well. I have to remove a few things off it before I take photos as I didn't realise until one of my friends come over but not everyone likes porcelian dolls! I take the photos with my iPod Touch 5 which is my favourite thing in the world but I would love to get an actual camera.

I edit the photos on VSCO, I personally don't like editing photos as it takes so long but it is definitely worth it!

Social Media

As you know if you follow me on Twitter, I tweet a lot! I use Buffer to schedule my Tweets about upcoming posts. I also put it up on Snapchat, my Snapchat is totally_ro if you want to follow me, I think it is weird that Snapchat doesn't have a schedule button thing.

That is how I get a blog post ready from planning to scheduling.

This is my 100th post! I can't believe it.

New Years Goals Update

I can't believe it is half way through the year! It only felt like a sneeze ago since I was thinking up my New Years Goals in January! I also have my original New Years Goals and 3 Month Update post.

Try to go more Cruelty Free

I haven't been buying much in the past few months due to trying to save up for Barcelona and I am going to London soon (yay!). I've been pretty good with trying to get cruelty free products the only thing that I am finding hard to find cruelty free versions of dry shampoo and hairspray that doesn't cost a fortune.

Get Driving

I have received my Learner's Permit and I am really excited about learning to drive, I know it won't be easy since I will be learning how to drive a manual car but I don't mind. I also can be insured which is another awesome thing as I was slightly worried I wouldn't because of my age. I hope to start driving lessons soon but for now my Dad is showing me a few things.

Get Yellow Belt in Kickboxing

I am half way to getting a yellow belt! I did my grading at the end of May and I got my white belt, the next problem is learning to tie it properly! The grading was hard but it was doable and all I wanted afterwards was a nice cold shower, which I normally hate. The next grading is in August and I hope to do it to get my yellow belt.

Save €10 a month

So far, I have €50 saved and I still need to put in the money for the month of June. I have been thinking about how I am going to spend this money or what to put it towards, I was thinking of either putting it towards a laptop for college or for getting a car, I know this money won't get either of them straight away but I can work up to it.

Stop Bitching About People

I feel like I have been trying my best to do this but there is no gauge to show how well or badly you are doing. I have been struggling at times but I am trying to keep a more positive outlook and more focused on myself and self improvement.

Write Another Play

I had an idea for a second play but I have felt so uninspired with it. I am not too sure will I get a play written unless I get one written over the Summer months as when school starts back I don't think I will have time but you never know!

Hit 10,000 pageviews

In January, I thought this goal was going to be impossible but now it is totally achievable, at the moment I am heading for 9,000 views and I'll hopefully hit 10,000 views before the next update.

Put up 1 Video a Month on YouTube

I have 5 up currently and another one hopefully going up soon. I put up another original song called The TY Song which was about my year in TY. I didn't put up a video in April as it was just a busy month but I hope to make up for that now as I already have one up for June and I'll put up another.

Do 5 Collabs

I still have only done 1 collab this year (oops), I did it with Frances, click HERE but I have a collab coming up with my friend Guilianna in July and I hope to do a few more too but for now nothing is planned.

Use Different Social Media More

I have really got into SnapChat recently especially since I have been on my Summer holidays. I love just posting random things I have been doing even if they are blog related or not. I have also begun using Pinterest a little more, I feel like I neglect it sometimes but when I go onto it for even a few minutes, I really enjoy it and I love looking at all the pins, no matter how unrealistic they seem!

Check Emails and Facebook Twice a Day

I have become better at controlling myself on Facebook, I was so bad I had to put it on the second page of my social media apps and since I did that I have noticed that I don't go into it as much and I am not wasting half as much time on it. I have slowly stopped checking my emails but I still check them 4-6 times a day, so I hope to get that down a bit more.

#Teenage Team

Teenage Team.jpg
I know it's weird for me to be posting on a Thursday but I am going to tell you about a new group I am in called Teenage Team. This group was started by Jade and Lauren who wrote a post called The Truth About Teenage Bloggers Project (#TTATB), click HERE and HERE if you want to read the posts. I personally know that there are some misconceptions about Bloggers but especially Teen Bloggers.

The aim of #TTATB is to help support and promote teenage bloggers everywhere and to do this we have created a Twitter and Instagram account. We are aiming to retweet blog post tweets that tag us and have our hashtags, #TTATB and #TeenageTeam. The hashtags will not only be used to promote your blog posts, but also to help you find other teenage bloggers.

In July 2016, we will be starting our own Twitter chat every Wednesday and Saturday at 6 o’clock.
We have also launched a website and every week, one of us will write a post for it, and are planning to have other teenage bloggers guest post on it! Along with the website, there is a newsletter that will come out monthly, including any extra #TTATB chat and information.

Twitter: @TatbProject

Who else is on the #TeenageTeam you may ask? Click HERE and you'll see the rest of the group.

My Casual Summery Makeup Look

It has been absolutely lovely here in Ireland for the past 2 weeks, around 22 C/72 F, the sun's out, everyone is happy until they get sunburned or sick of the weather. I don't like applying loads of makeup in the Summer, especially when it's hot as it normally just melts off in no time, I thought I would show you my Summer Makeup Look.

Starting off with primer Collection Prime & Ready Primer, I gently rub that into my face concentrating on my forehead and chin as I find I can get slightly oily here during the warmer months. I use Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light and mix in a bit of Boots Simply Sensitive Protecting Day Moisturiser to make it more pale as the BB cream by itself is a bit too dark. I use Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory to conceal under my eyes and Seventeen Phwoarr Paint in Fair. I set my makeup with Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent. I then use Benefit Benetint and Benefit Hoola Bronzer to add some colour and depth to my face.

For my eyebrows I use Sleek iDivine Palette in Oh So Special a mixture The Mail and Boxed Up and to set it I use Natural Collection Lash Care Mascara in Clear.

I use Benefit's Porefessional as an eye primer. Sometimes if I just put on some mascara and leave it like that.

I use Maybelline Color Tattoo in 35- On and On Bronze all over my lid to give something for the shadows to stick to. From Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette I use White Chocolate from my lid to my brow bone to help blend shadow out, Salted Caramel on my lid, a mixture of Semi-Sweet and Glided Ganache into my crease and Champagne Truffle in the inner corner of my eye.

I have been gravitating towards Benefit's PosieBalm and BeneBalm for sheer colour and if I want a  bit more I go for Sleek Lip VIP in Backstage.

Tools Used

Unknown angled brush

And here is the finished look!

I know it might seem crazy to put on that much makeup but it doesn't feel heavy, cakey or like it's going to slide off my face.

The April and May Edition

I have decided to change my monthly favourites as I have always found it restricting, I found I could only mention products, movies and books but not experiences. I feel that with a new name I may feel less restricted. So here's what I have been loved get in April and May!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette

My Mam and Dad got this for me for my birthday as I had been thinking about getting it for a while as it is two of my favourite things combined, chocolate and makeup. This has been my go to palette for the past few weeks, I haven't done much experimenting with it yet as I am trying out the Glamour Guide come with the palette.

First Row L-R: Glided Ganache, White Chocolate (hard to see), Milk Chocolate, Black Forest Truffle, Triple Fudge
Second Row L-R: Salted Caramel, Marzipan, Semi-Sweet, Strawberry Bon Bon (hard to see), Candied Violet, Amaretto
Third Row L-R: Hazelnut, Creme Brulee, Haute Chocolate, Cherry Cordial, Champagne Truffle

After 7 or so hours of wear they start to fade a little and crease but on my eyelids that's good as some eye shadows crease within an hour of application! I love this palette, the packaging is cute and adorable and the eye shadows are gorgeous.

Ant Man

I wanted to see Ant Man in cinema but I didn't for some reason or another and when I saw that it was on DVD, I decided to get it. I can't really compare it to Deadpool as that movie is in a league of its own. I love Marvel movies and I have since I saw The Avengers in 2012. I liked Ant Man as it wasn't the typical superhero who had something implanted in him to stay alive or gets bitten by a bug that gives him powers. Scott Lang, who is Ant Man, stole the shrink suit from Hank Pym and Hank finds out and gets Scott to save the world, that part sounds like a typical superhero movie. I am looking forward to seeing the sequel when that comes out.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

I was recommended this by one of my close friends and I see why she raved about it so much. It helps to reduce the appearance of imperfections and unclogs sebum blocked pores. I find this an amazing spot killer, it shrinks them overnight and the best part is that it can be used day and night while my other favourite spot treatment Lush's Grease Lightning can only be used at night as it goes flaky when the product dries out.

The Imitation Game

I have first heard of this movie when I was watching on of Jane from Queen of Quirk's YouTube videos, I thought it was from one of her recent videos but it is nearly a year old, oops! The Imitation Game is based on a true story about Alan Turing, who is played by Benedict Cumberbatch, who worked with for the British government to decrypt German intelligence codes. He created a machine that he called Christopher, after a childhood friend who had passed away, and the movie is about how he creates and continues to improve this machine up until his death. Since it is based on a real story it isn't on happy, happy but I enjoyed the realness of it all.

School of Rock

On my last day of school I got to watch some of School of Rock, it brought back such great memories. I used to love this movie and thankfully I didn't over watch it. I can't believe it came out 13 years ago! If you haven't seen it before, firstly go watch it, it is about a guy called Dewey Finn (played by the awesome Jack Black) who takes a job as a substitute teacher in a strict private school which he has no training for what so ever. He creates a rock band out of the 4th grade class he was teaching and enters Battle of the Bands.

There is a lot more to it and I love it as it is a comedy or pure nonsense like did the principle not realise at any point that Dewey was unfit for teaching or questioned where he went to College? I love this movie and I should really watch the whole thing.

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

I got this for the plane journey to Barcelona and it was a very interesting book. The book is about Violet Markey, who is still trying to get over the death of her sister, and Theodore Finch who just wants to die. They meet at the clock tower of their school as they both were going to jump off the ledge to end their life, Violet walked in on Theodore and it was staged as if Violet was trying to save Theodore but it was actually the other way around. Like a lot of YA novels, they get really close. I really enjoyed this book but I don't know how I feel that it is being turned into a movie.

Milka with Oreo Chocolate Bar

I bought this in the Duty Free in Barcelona and I am really sad that I finished it the other day as I don't know where I can get it. It was the yummiest Milka bar ever as it had Oreo in it and it has plenty of the cream. I wish I bought another one but maybe I might find it when I'm in London next month.

My favourite experiences were going to Barcelona and the play The Wedding, that I did, I know I have talked about both of these many times. I have posts about both of them already HERE, HERE and HERE.

18 Things I Learned in TY

As I mentioned in my final TY Thursday post, if you haven't seen it, click HERE, I said that I would do a 'Things I Learned in TY' post and I keep my promises! I really wanted to do one of these as I know I have learned a lot about myself and other people this year.

No one really understands me
It's a weird thing to admit, I love my friends and each of them gets a part of my personality but no one gets me as a whole.

It is totally possible to have a shower and be dressed in 20 minutes
Especially when it's between Greys Anatomy and Code Black.

When something is wrong people will point fingers
Most annoying ever!

My school awards consist of smart people and teachers pets
Says the one who won a tutor award but I believe this is so true, the only reason I got that award was because I get on with my tutor.

Some teachers treat you like a human being, others treat you like a pay cheque

Say yes if you're at least 30% sure you'd like to do it
I had to make a last minute speech on my TY Grad Night while everyone else was saying no I rose to the challenge. I also wanted to preform on Grad Night but I was nervous and I am so glad I did.

Hard work pays off but it doesn't if you're the only one in a group that is doing it
And some people wonder why I'm not a team player.

Some people are assholes and there's no point in trying to change that
I don't really need to state much more.

Surprising people can be very interesting way of doing things
I didn't tell my parents I was preforming for Grad Night until I grabbed my ukulele before I hopped into the car and I kept it on the down low from my class mates as well, everyone was surprised especially the teachers.

Not everyone is enthusiastic
I learned this the hard way.

It's nice to get recognised for your work
Yes and when people say how awesome something you did is, it brightens any day.

Take every opportunity you get
I did... I think.

I think that hate doesn't affect me but it actually does
Especially when people just yell at you even though it wasn't directly your fault.

There's a first for everything and I started a few of them
Like writing a song and preforming it on Grad Night.

Getting to know different people is awesome
I'm a people person or a person people whichever comes out first!

I have had a lot of lonely times this year
Even though I am a people person, I have had a few lonely times this year which were horrible but I hope I have learned from them.

I have been leaving hints about my blog but nobody has picked up on them, I think
Very few people in my real life know about my blog and so I started leaving hints in different places like I have a link to it from my YouTube channel and also my personal Twitter but I have got the questions about it.

Acting is my forte and nothing beats being on stage or backstage
Excuse my French but that is the easiest way to put it, I got to be in a great play with great people which I miss so much, it was on nearly 2 months ago! I helped my lovely Speech and Drama teacher with her show day since I wasn't in a play of hers, I loved seeing all the kids excited and nervous before they stepped on stage or as they happily walked off as they were finished.

That's a few things that I learned from TY, I know not all of them are positive things but they are something I learned.
Thanks for being awesome,
