New Years Goals Update

I feel like it's the perfect time to have an update on my New Year Goals. I really like seeing how I'm doing with them as I want to succeed at some of them.

Try to go more Cruelty Free

I think I am doing well at trying to get more Cruelty Free makeup, I have started looking into different brands and checking before I purchase something if it is cruelty free. I haven't bought much this year due to me trying to save up for Barcelona (nearly a month away), it will be hard in Barcelona to find out if brands are cruelty free. I need to make a list of makeup I want to get there as I know there are a few brands like Kiko and Milani that aren't in Ireland and also hopefully I get to go to Sephora (I'm getting too excited over this!).

Get Driving

Since I'm not seventeen (yet), I can't get a learners permit. I did get to do a bit of driving when I did a Drivers Ed day at school (click HERE), I really enjoyed it even though I wasn't the best at it. The only thing is I've been told by my parents that if the insurance is too high, I won't be able to drive. In Ireland it is mandatory to have car insurance.

Since I have started doing a play with me being one of the youngest (click HERE), I have really got the urge to start driving as once as rehearsals are finished everyone leaves and I have to wait for a lift.

Get Yellow Belt in Kickboxing

I was supposed to do my first grading in January but unfortunately I injured my leg doing PE in school *rolls eyes*. I hope to do grading in May but I don't know will I have enough classes done as I had been sick for 10 days this month and I'll be missing more classes as of my play and going to Barcelona. I hope I'll be able to do it, fingers crossed!

Save €10 a month

So far, so good with this one. I have €30 saved already! I hope that it'll keep going as easy as it has been going but I highly doubt that as I haven't been shopping as much. I'll just have to wait and see how everything pans out.

Stop Bitching about People

I'm kinda more negative thinking than positive and I am trying to change that. So far, I am doing ok, I'm trying not to talk about people behind their back. I have noticed that I am doing it less which is a good thing by all means.

Write Another Play

I have started writing my second play as my first play has just been preformed, Of course, it's not all my work, I co-write it with my drama teacher. I write it and she edits it and changes it so it'll suit being on stage. The one I am writing at the moment is about a school reunion, I'm not going to say any more about that as it's a secret.

Hit 10,000 pageviews

I am just over 7,000 pageviews *surprised face*, I think I'll be definitely over the 10,000 mark up the end of the year, I wouldn't be able to believe that but still, it will happen! And I'll be over the moon when it does.

Put up 1 Video a Month on YouTube

I have a YouTube channel (sneaky promo there!), it is music and I put up covers of songs and I hope to put up more original songs too. So far, I have 2 videos up and another one is going up in the next few days. I find it difficult to get a video up every month but I am making time for it.

Do 5 Collabs

I have already done 1 collab already with Frances from Royally Rouge, so that's 1 down. I have plans with a fellow Irish Blogger Aisling to do a collab with me during the Summer, when she is free from exams. Apart from that I have no other collabs planned. If you would like to collab with me, email me at totallyro6@gmail(dot)com or contact me through any of my social medias

Use Different Social Media More

I have become more active on Snapchat definitely, I love Snapchat as I can put up snip it's of my life. I've become more active on Twitter as I have started sharing my random thoughts on things. Pinterest and Tumblr I don't go on that often, I don't know why either, I think I just prefer Snapchat and Twitter.

Check Emails and Facebook Twice a Day

I have improved with restricting myself going onto my emails but Facebook is a different story. Once as I go on it I am down a rabbit hole and then I eventually come to my senses and realise I have wasted 20 minutes just scrolling on Facebook.

Smaller Goals

These are as of 21st March
500 Twitter Followers: 311 followers
50 Blog Followers: 19 followers
25 Pinterest Followers: 5 followers
1,000 Snapchat Score: 458 score

How are your New Years Goals working out?

The Liebster Award

I have seen this award go around on multiple blogs before, I have been nominated twice (I know crazy!) by the lovely Jemma from The Sweet Pea Life and the fabulous Theresa from Theresa Cosgrove to do this award/tag thing, that's my best way to describe it. The Liebster Award is for bloggers with under 1,000 followers, I personally think it is bloggers sharing the love with other bloggers who may have a small following. Here are the rules:
  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog
  2. Answer the 11 questions you have been asked
  3. Nominate 11 bloggers for the award
  4. Ask them 11 questions of your own
I would like to thank Jemma for nominating me, I was so surprised when I she nominated me. Here are Jemma's questions:

1. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

I love being able to express myself in any way or form and also the community, I have some blogger friends that I wouldn't know at all if it weren't for blogging.

2. What is your favourite movie and why?

Hmm.... That's hard! I would have to say Deadpool as it is hilarious and I love action movies.

3. If you could choose a country to live in for the rest of your life, which country would it be and why?

Definitely America, I don't know where though but I'm just sick for the terrible weather in Ireland and to experience a new way of living.

4. Dog or Cat?

Dog, of course! I hate cats and anyways dogs are so friendly and cute.

5. If you were stranded on an desert island and could only bring 3 things, what 3 things would you bring and why?

I would bring my guitar (Spark), notebooks and pens. I feel like playing my guitar would keep me sane while I could write songs, stories, plays, draw etc in my notebooks. I would be half tempted to bring my laptop or computer but I think my answer is simple.

6. What has been your most recent purchase?

I have been on a slight spending ban as I'm going to Barcelona (sorry I keep mentioning it) but my most recent purchase has been EcoTools Eye Enhancing Duo Brush Set and Sleek Makeup Lip VIP in Backstage 1003.

7. What are your other passions in life, aside from blogging?

My other passions are acting, playing my guitar and writing (Songs, stories, plays). My main one is definitely acting, I am a drama queen and without a play or something to look forward to I go a bit mad.

8. Chocolate or Chips?

Chocolate 100%!

9. If you could host a dinner party with 4 people of your choosing, who would you invite and why?

I would pick Matthew Gray Gubler, as he is such a unique person, Taylor Swift, as she is one of my favourite people, J.K. Rowling, as I love Harry Potter and I could ask her for help writing a novel, and Robert Sheehan, as he is an Irish actor and went to my secondary school, I'd love to talk to him about what acting is like

10. Tell me one interesting fact about yourself.

I'm part pencil! I know it sounds crazy but I have a tiny piece of pencil stuck in my left hand, I know I should get it removed............

11. What one thing makes you the most happy?

Acting! I love to act and be on stage. It is kinda like a drug to me, I know its a weird way to describe it, but I'm  happiest when I am doing a play and after its finished I get really sad and upset.

I would like to thank Theresa, I was so surprised that I would get nominated again! Here are her questions:

Dream holiday?

Road Trip around America stopping in loads of different locations

Favourite makeup brand?

Hmm Probably NYX

City or Country?

City, definitely! Being from the country I know how boring it is

Favourite type of music?

Pop, R&B and a little Country

Favourite thing to blog about?

This may sound terrible but about myself, what I'm doing, how I'm feeling, my thoughts etc etc.

Favourite social media?

Has to be Twitter! It's so quick to send a tweet and it anything can be put up.

If you could be someone else for a day who would you be and why?

I couldn't pick one person, it would be between JK Rowling, to see what it's like to be a writer, Jennifer Lawrence, to see what it is like to be an actress and Taylor Swift, to see what goes on when recording an album.

Coke or Pepsi?

Favourite colour?

Go to clothing item? (Staple/must have)

Hmm.. Winter: My Boots. Summer: my dungarees

Winter or Summer?

Both, I like both for different reasons

Empties #4

Here are some things I have used up recently.

Boots Botanics Purifying Face Scrub

I really like this scrub so much so that I bought another tub of it straight away. I have normal to dry skin and I felt this did a great job of puffing away dry skin and leaving my face feeling smooth. Another reason why I love this so much is that the scrub particles are not plastic micro beads, I wrote a post about it HERE, instead it uses refined walnut. It is quite an abrasive scrub, I wouldn't recommend for sensitive skin.
Would I repurchase again? I already have!

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Daily Detox Facial Wash

I bought this nearly 1 year ago as I wanted to try a face wash that would help my skin. I originally used this as a face mask but then I started using it as a face mask. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was very hard to get off my face. I would have to scrub my face pretty hard to get if off and that aggravated my skin a little.
Would I repurchase again? No

Lacura ProRevive Handcream

This was just a standard hand cream, it kept my hands moisturised and soft.
Would I repurchase again? Yes

RCH Passionfruit Body Butter

I didn't like the smell of this body butter very much but it was a really nice moisturiser and once as I got past the smell, I really enjoyed it. It left my skin feeling soft and nourished.
Would I repurchase again? No

Sure Crystal Invisible Anti-Perspirant

There's nothing much I can say about this except it did the job.
Would I repurchase again? I don't know

Sanex Extra Conrol Anti-Perspirant

This was a good anti-perspirant, it did the job. I liked how it smelt and it didn't feel sticky when I had it on.
Would I repurchase again?  No, as it is tested on animals

Rimmel London Brow This Way Brow Styling Gel in 004 Clear

I loved this styling gel especially the wand that came with it. It was big enough that you only had to go through your eyebrows once but was small enough so you wouldn't get it all over your face. It kept my eyebrows from disappearing!
Would I repurchase again? I don't know

VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray

This bottle has lasted me 3 years! That's mostly because I don't do a lot of heat styling on my hair. I used it if I was drying, straightening or curling my hair. I don't know would my hair be the same if I hadn't used it as I always have used a heat protector.
Would I repurchase again? Yes, I already have another bottle of it

Taylor Swift WonderStruck

This is another product that I have had for 3 years. I'm surprised I have it this long! I remember buying it in first year when I was on a school tour in Manchester and it was £20. I love the scent and I miss it now as I don't have a replacement yet! I am definitely keeping the bottle as it is so cute. I would describe the scent to you but I can't describe scents and also I have a cold right now and I can't smell it.
Would I repurchase again? 100% yes

Impulse True Love Body Fragrance

These used to be my pride and glory, I would have around 4 on the go. Now I'm not really into them as much as they smell really cheap. I think I have just gone past that phase. True Love was my favourite by far. Now when I smell it, it reminds me of when I went to France, Germany and The Netherlands on holidays 2 and 3 years ago.
Would I repurchase again? Probably not

What empties do you have?

Vendetta by Catherine Doyle Review

You may remember me writing about this book nearly a year ago in my April Favourites, I didn't go into much detail then. Since the second book in the Blood for Blood series came out in January, I wanted to do a review on both of them. The review for Inferno will come out in next 2 months (I haven't decided yet).

Blood will spill and hearts will break.... For Sophie, it's a dull summer in the Chicago suburbs, until five mysterious brothers move into her neighbourhood. A chance encounter with one of them leaves her breathless. But as the secrets of Nic's Sicilian emerge, Sophie's new world shatters. Now she realizes that the choice between love and family comes at a deadly price.

The main character in this book is Sophie Gracewell who lives with her mother. She works in the family owned diner Gracewell's which being run by her uncle, Jack while her father is in prison. One day she notices that people are moving into Priestly's old house which was a mansion abandoned for years. She was told by her uncle and local gossip to stay away from the Falcone family living there as they were bad news. Sophie decides to ignore this and gets aquainted with the boys living there Nic, Dom. Luca,  Valentino and Gino but she doesn't realize what danger she puts herself into until it is too late. She finds out too much about the Falcones but she falls in love with Nic and at first he tries to push her away and then he decides to protect her. She ends up being kidnapped along with her mother, she ends up escaping with minor injuries but still ends up in hospital.

I promise you that this is the bare skeleton of what happens, I have tried not to spoil some more of the dramatic parts.

I loved this book, it is one of the first and only books that I can actually reread as I normally find when I reread a book that I get bored of it.

I loved this book so much, it was dramatic and dripping and at times I couldn't put it down even though it was 1am on a school night!

Broadcasting Waves (Well... Not Really!)

During the mid-term, I got to go up to Dublin to Today FM (national radio station) and get a tour around. Of course, I took the opportunity to go shopping since I was in Dublin as there is no Forever 21, Topshop, Lush or New Look near me unfortunately and I like to take every opportunity I get to go shopping in Dublin.

I made my merry little way to Dublin, let's be honest I sat in a car while my Mam drove. We went to my Aunt's house, as she lives on the outskirts of the city, and we got a bus in. I always find going in on the bus weird because I always forget which stop to get off at.

First stop, Henry Street! I first went into Lush, if you have ever been to the Lush on Henry Street, you will know it's small, I spent half an hour there, looking at things, smelling products, sampling products and asking questions. I eventually dragged myself out with little damage done to my wallet and a Love Lettuce face mask *phew*.

Then it was time to find Today FM, it took me, my Mam and Google maps around 20 minutes to get there as we had to cross over to the south side of Dublin and we past the building twice before realising where it was. We had ten minutes spare so we went for a coffee in Insomnia, I had a hot chocolate and it was amazing.

It was time to go to Today FM, from the outside of the building, you wouldn't think it was where a radio station was. I met one of the presenters, Ed Smith as I went in. It was so interesting seeing all of the departments of a radio station sales, social media, marketing, reception, advertising and shows. As I was looking around, I met Fergal D'Arcy, one of my favourite radio presenters and I talked to him for a bit. Unfortunately or fortunately (whichever way you like to look at it!), I didn't get a picture with him.

I was shown the broadcasting studio, which was amazing, from the mic set up, fader music, song select and other techie things. As there are 2 broadcasting studios, I could see into the other one as it was being used. After that show finished I got to meet the presenters who were on Dermot Whelan and Dave Moore. We talked for a few minutes but they had to do something so I didn't get talking to them for long.

Then I was finished! It was a short but very interesting visit. I had another look around the city, I went to Jervis shopping center and decided to go into Boots. I am glad to say I didn't spend my life savings in there (thankfully) but I came out with Sleek MakeUp Lip VIP in Backstage and Eco-Tools Eye Enhauncing Duo Brush Set, which was on my wishlist for a while.

Thanks for reading!
See you,
