My 2015 Roundup

2015 is nearly over and I can't believe that! I love seeing what has happened in the past year. This year I made 66 post on this blog, 13 posts on The Little Chatter Boxes and I did 3 collabs. There were also 3 designs, the default one, the one I tried to make and the one Morning made for me.

I was still using my old blog at this stage, I was getting annoyed with it and wanted to change platforms.

I changed to this blog, Hurray!! I also had my mock exams (not hurray).

I did my first ever monthly favourites.

I set up my Instagram account. I learned to stop using a blanket on my bed as a background for taking pictures. I found out I got into Transition Year.

I came up with the idea of Skincare Ingredients 101 and did one on prophylene glycol.

I survived doing my Junior Cert exams while starting to obsess over American Horror Story. The Little Chatter Boxes started.

I went to see Taylor Swift on her 1989 World Tour and it was amazing! I miss it so much. I visited Lush for the first time and I realised how amazing it is. I took part in Teens Tell Their Story which was started by Sherina and Caitlin.

I got longlisted for Best Youth Blog in Blog Awards Ireland. I wrote a post about being dyslexic. I got over 2,000 views.

I started my TY Thursday series. I received my Junior Cert results and I was very happy with them. I started doing kickboxing. I got asked to be one of the school's yearbook editors.

I worked at The Ploughing Championships. I did a 28km hike over 2 days (and lost my voice). I passed my driving theory test. Whoop Whoop!

I won a beauty hamper and I of course reviewed it.

I came up with the idea of doing Collabmas where I would collab with a different blogger every week of the month, well I did 3 out of the 4! I had my speech and drama exam and I think I did ok! I hit 5,000 pageviews

New Years Goals 2015 Review

Since it is nearly the end of 2015, I have decided to do a review of the goals I started in January. For once, I made a New Years Goals list and actually stuck to most of them. Normally, I make a list in my mind of things I am going to do or change (mistake 1) and then I forget about it completely (mistake 2). Here is how I got on with my goals this year:

Percy Jackson
The Help
Alice's Adventure in Wonderland
I Hate My Selfie
Under The Persimmon Tree
The Kill Order
A Work in Progress
Love, Tanya
The Lovely Bones

1. The 15 Book Challenge

I got 15 books read this year, I finished the 15th book just a few days ago but I got 15 read. The books I read were:

Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief
Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters
Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse
Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth
Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian
The Kill Order by James Dashner
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Vendetta by Catherine Doyle
I Hate Myselfie by Shane Dawson
A Work in Progress by Connor Franta
Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
Under the Persimmon Tree by Suzanne Fisher Staples
Hamlet Made Easy
Love, Tanya by Tanya Burr

2. Drink 2 Litres of Water a Day

I ended up not measuring how much water I drank but I definitely have improved as I used to be quite bad for not drinking enough water.

3. Try to Exercise 2-3 Times a Week

I think I did alright at this for most of the year, I was using the app Sworkit. When I tarted doing kickboxing it slightly changed as I do that twice a week (I am planning on writing a post about why I picked kickboxing to do etc. in the new year!).

4. Being More Creative On My Blog

I think (I don't know about you) that I have become more creative and have put more effort into my blog posts. Gone are the days when I used to write up a whole blog post, take bad pictures and hit publish. Now I do my blog posts over the space of a week, take slightly better photos and schedule it to publish. I would just like to do some comparisons on two monthly favourites posts I did, one in February and the other in October. Some things I noticed about February Favourites:
  • Vertical photos (*shudders*)
  • Less information about the products than Octobers Favourites
  • Not knowing how to link words without having to put the whole web code in
  • Not linking all products
  • More spelling and grammar mistakes
  • Photos not great
Now thankfully, I don't have all those problems with my posts (just one or two). I also noticed that there has been a change in the blog posts I make, there used to be more reviews on products while now there is a variety of things.

5. Listen to a New Genre of Music Each Month

I ended up not doing this goal as I found it very boring. I would force myself into listening to a genre of music not because I liked it more because I kept thinking of this goal. I wanted to discover new genres of music that I would like but I quit as I felt it was destroying instead of interesting.

6. Write At Least 1 Song

I definitely nailed this one on the head. I think I have written over 12 songs but most aren't great but I did it which I am proud of. One of my songs I decided to record and put up on YouTube called The Junior Cert Song basically mocking the exam itself and also how everyone was reacting to it and how nobody had studied for it.

How did your goals go this year?
See you,
